If you need to onboard many users at once, illuxiLMS provides a bulk import feature using CSV files. Rather than adding users one by one, you can prepare a spreadsheet of users and import them together. To bulk import users:
Prepare a CSV File: Create a CSV file with user details. Typically, the columns should include first name, last name, email, and any required fields like language or group assignment. Check illuxiLMS documentation or the import page for the exact template or required column headers. Fill in the information for all the users you want to add.
Go to Users Import Tool: In the Admin Portal, navigate to Users management and find an option for Import or Bulk Import. This might be a button labeled Import Users or an “Import CSV” link.
Upload the CSV: Click the import option and upload your prepared CSV file. The system may prompt you to match columns to fields if it doesn’t automatically detect them.
Map Fields (if required): Ensure that the columns from your CSV are correctly mapped to the user fields in illuxiLMS (e.g., Email -> Email, First Name -> First Name, etc.). Many systems have a template to avoid this step.
Choose Settings: There could be additional settings, such as:
Default Password for new users or sending invite emails for them to set passwords.
Group or Role assignment if you want all these users in a specific group.
Duplicate Handling – e.g., skip or update if a user with the same email already exists.
Run the Import: Confirm to start the import. The system will process the file. For a large number of users, it may take a little time.
Review Import Results: Once complete, illuxiLMS will likely show a summary: how many users were created, and if any rows failed (with errors like “email already exists” or invalid data). Review this report.
Notify New Users: If the platform has sent invitation emails to the imported users (commonly it does), those users will get an email to set up their account. If not, you may need to send out communications manually with their login information.
Bulk importing saves time and ensures consistency when adding dozens or hundreds of users. Always use the provided CSV template or guidelines from illuxiLMS to avoid errors. If something goes wrong (e.g., file format issues), the system usually provides error messages to help correct the CSV and try again.
